A great deal of useless noise has been made about Facebook's seeming support for Donald Trump and the tech giant's refusal do much to curb it's selective censorship of the collective news feed. Within Facebook, right wing support seems to come from early investor Peter Thiel. Mark Zuckerberg, and his wife Priscilla Chan, seem firmly in the center of the political spectrum when they put their considerable money where their mouths are not. The billionaire couple put considerable effort into strategically supporting whatever centrist was put forth since at least 2017.

It began when Iranian soccer player Alireza Jahanbakhsh posted a photo of the late Iranian Quds force Commander General Soleimani after his death. Jahanbakhsh said Instagram had removed that post. Within hours the International Federation of Journalists reported that at least fifteen Iranian journalists have had their profiles suspended. After that Multiple Iranian newspapers and other media outlets reported being banned from the platform.
There has been much talk of Russian interference with the 2016 general election in order to put Putin's finger on the scale for Trump. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has been called in front of Congress to answer questions about how Cambridge Analytica got away with mining and using all that data. What the mainstream media, while focusing on Facebook, has failed to amplify is the role of several intelligence community connected firms in the election and what retired spies are involved. Cambridge Analytica did not act alone, they had partners and those partners had connections.
